Tina Rae Begay, L.Ac., DOM, MSOM

Tina Rae is a board certified Diplomate in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology – Oriental Medicine by NACCOM (Dip.OM). She is a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) by the state of Arizona and holds a Master of Science degree in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) from the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture (ACAOM Accredited). In addition, Tina Rae earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, with a minor in Chemistry, at Northern Arizona University as well as attended Utah State University to pursue further studies in Chemistry.



Tina Rae’s path to healing took root in the early life lessons and alternative medicine teachings of her mother and great-grandmother. Tina Rae found symmetry in Native American and Eastern modalities and each complimented her approach to treating the whole person. By blending her Native American teachings with her formal education in Oriental Medicine, Tina Rae offers her patient’s a holistic medical approach and is able to help resolve many chronic and acute illnesses. She takes a special interest in treating women, the elderly and members of her Native American family. She has invested significant time and attention to learning more and offering care solutions for patients who suffer from diabetes, woman’s issues, chronic pain and sports medicine.

By its nature, Oriental Medicine relies heavily on the sharing of knowledge between practitioners to foster an environment of continual learning and growth. Tina Rae has been blessed to have two significant mentors provide her ongoing counsel; Steve Stubenbrach,DOM and Sunggon Kim, L.Ac. Steve has over two decades of experience practicing Oriental Medicine and is a recognized international lecturer on Herbology,

Tina Rae learned the value of herbs from different continents and deepens her reverence for herbs under Steve’s guidance. While at the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture, Tina Rae was a student of Sunggon Kim where a lasting bond was formed. Tina Rae and Sunggon share a like vision in their approach and practice of Oriental Medicine as well as a devotion to working with Native Americans. Tina Rae and Sunggon continue to work together today and are colleagues at Holy Hill Acupuncture in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Tina Rae was born in Provo, Utah and grew up in Central Utah and Central Arizona. When not practicing, Tina Rae enjoys sharing time with family, god-son Nalzheehee (Hunter) and friends. Tina Rae loves the outdoors and is known for playing women’s rugby, mountain biking, and backpacking. In addition Tina Rae looks for opportunities to attend and participate in Native American ceremonies.
