About Acupunture

Acupuncture……a 5,000 year tradition of success.

In many Western cultures today, acupuncture is considered a new “alternative” or even “new age” medicine. In reality, acupuncture has an established track record that goes back well over 5,000 years.

At its most basic, acupuncture is the insertion of very fine needles on the body’s surface, in order to influence physiological functioning of the body (i.e. enhance the body’s innate ability to restore itself to full health).

Acupuncture can also be used in conjunction with heat produced by burning specific herbs. This is called moxibustion.

The first record of acupuncture is found in a 4,700 year old “Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine“. This is said to be the oldest medical textbook in the world.

It is said to have been recorded from even earlier theories by Shen Nung, the father of Oriental Medicine. Shen Nun documented theories about circulation, pulse, and the heart over 4,000 years before Europen medicine had any concept of these functions.

Thank you for the great treatment of my daugther...
Thank you for the great treatment of my daugther while she was in your area. As a fellow acupuncturist it's always hard when your adult child moves away and needs care.
